About Aaron and this Site
First things first, if you want to e-mail, feel free.

This domain, helloaaron.com, has been registered and running non-stop since October 2002. Initially, it was intended to feature my (limited) portfolio and help me get a job after graduating from Michigan State University in May 2003.
It fulfilled that purpose when I was hired by a PR agency and moved to Minneapolis in October 2003. So, in July 2004, I rethought, repurposed and redesigned helloaaron.com.
Now, its only purpose is to waste my time and provide me with entertainment and a creative outlet.
Things I care about -- and most often write about -- include dealing with, living and enjoying life as a young gay man; marketing; life in the Midwest; culture; and current affairs.
Colophon
I'm not a professional Web designer. Everything I know I've taught myself. If things change here often, it's because I'm learning and applying new skills.
The site is based on Movable Type and (mostly) educated by Smarty Pants. It uses CSS, PHP, XML and other stuff I have no clue about. It is created on a Mac Powerbook G4 using Illustrator, Photoshop and Dreamweaver. Other programs include Final Cut Express (I'm too poor for Pro), InDesign, Ecto and Kung-Tunes.
Inspiration is provided by iTunes and the dozens of Web sites I copied. Hey, good designers copy and great designers steal. I'm neither good nor great, so what do I have to do to make something that looks decent?
