Wanted: The Truth

J-Wanted

It's apparent that MeSouthern and STB were -- at least on some level -- a hoax. A fairly decent (and certainly extended) one at that. Now that the fun and games are over with, there are questions: Specifically, Why? And who are you?

Since June, you -- J, Jason, MeSouthern, STB, whatever -- have posted dozens of blog entries. You've visited other sites and left comments. You've e-mailed me several times, asking to meet but never responding after I do. One of your "friends" e-mailed me from Friendster. Why all of this? The inquisitive writer in me wants to know the truth. So here's what I propose:

Finally come through with one of your suggestions, and let's meet. We'll compromise on the day and place. I'll bring a tape recorder, you bring the truth. Some photo ID would help, as well, but it's not necessary. I don't care if you're not the cute boy pictured above. I don't care if you're gay or even if you're male. I won't ask for your real surname or expose where it is you work or any other detail that could get you in trouble. There are no judgments on my part. I just want to ask questions and you to answer truthfully.

I think you owe me that. You have my e-mail address.

Comments:

I thought everyone knew J was a hoax. From the moment he started posting pictures on the blog, I knew for sure that he was at least lying about his appearance because the pictures didn't match. One of J was supposedly a white guy, one was hispanic, one looked a little more of-Jewish-descent. Was I the only one noticing the discrepancies way back? I've left him a few nice comments during my less skeptical moments, thinking maybe the info in the blog was legit even if the photos were obviously lies. But from the moment STB "appeared", I knew that something like this was in the mix.

I've been burned big time by fake bloggers so I always assume hoax until proven otherwise. Bloggers who are eager to boast and post lots of details, hot pictures, etc. on their blogs are more than likely fake.

I knew that J was not telling the truth for a while now. I read all his entries and they and the photos never quite jived. The detective in me came to the conclusion that the person at mesouthern was screwing with everyone. For fun? I realized that the person who was pretending to be STB was a fake when he began talking about his mother who's pushing legislation for a ban on gay marriage. I'm a smart cookie who knows a lot of influential people in this state. Not to mention I read the newspaper. If you were fooled shame on him... and I guess boo on you Aaron. It happens.

i am sort of blown away by this. i dont see how someone could make all that up? ALL that? mesouthern's blog pulled on my heartstrings. he echoed a lot of what i pften feel (much more fluidly too) s someone struggling with this hiv shit. now his blog is just gone? and everyone is convinced its a big hoax? i just dont get it. at all.

i'm sort of tempted to shut down my blog. i feel totally betrayed if what you say is true. it's a piece of crap anyway. i don't have talent like aaron here, who expresses himself so beautifully.

i hope you are wrong. :(

hello all (posted this on the sparkle's page),

i have been following the drama since "lucas" posted his name. my friend used to be in a home schooling group with this guy and i have met him a couple times. i can assure your that he did not make these posts as the tone and vocab is not anything he would use (i may be wrong).

for a second i believed it because lucas has comes off as if he may be gay when i met him (lisp, dress, etc). i actually believe it was the first question i asked my friend after i met kucas. i have also read the bachmann christmas letter sent to my friends house. this letter had some interesting info. first lucas has been attending the U for undergraduate. the other thing i thought was interesting was how his mom talked about how lucas was should be such a chick magnet, yet he never has had a girlfriend which she chalked up to him working to hard at school. she went on to say how she would spend some time finding him a wife (she actually talked about this for half of the paragraph in lucas' section of the letter).

ok, so what are my scattered thoughts trying to say? i believe lucas very well could be gay, but the blog is a complete hoax.

if you want to meet lucas, he may still work at the christian book store (Northwestern Book Store)in st. paul.

hope my random information is helpful.

Well, you have to admit, it was pretty creative. Looking back on it now (as the hoax it was)... remember the entry where he described some guy just falling over dead, in the middle of fucking him? ...while they were both high on crystal? I mean, WTF?? I can't help but smile and laugh a bit when I think of it now. I think some of those drama queen entries could be just BRILLIANT for their black humor and would be great in a gay-themed film. Any screenplay writers out there? Maybe MeSouthern should migrate to Los Angeles and pursue a career. :D
