Razor please?

Our house is a hair factory. It’s a miracle the dogs aren’t bald. But I guess it’s like Jesus multiplying a feast. Our dogs never run out of hair to shed all over clothes, furniture, beds, food, etc. I’ve contemplated starting a rug factory.

Or just shaving them bald.

Actually, I think there’s medication that helps reduce shedding. A co-worker used to work at a PR agency that marketed the stuff. As part of their campaign, they created a media kit to send to editors at magazines like Good Housekeeping or Dog World or whatever. As part of that media kit, they bought laundered pet hair and loosely glued it to the folder so that when the envelope was opened, hairs went flying. (I think they also included a lint roller to pick it all up.)

The kit met with some rave reviews, as well as some not-so-rave reviews. Here is one actual voicemail from an unhappy editor at Cat Fancy magazine. Check it out.

Comments:

I hear ya Aaron!! Yuna and Akima SHOULD be bald based on how much hair is present in the house... I've tried to think of a way to vacuum them daily, but since they're TERRIFIED of the vacuum it doesn't seem feasible.

*sigh*

I WISH there was a wonder drug for shedding...

That was a bad idea for a press kit...

LOL - that is hillarious!!! I was reading it thinking it didn't sound like a very good idea, but when I heard the voicemail I laughed out loud!

"Are you kidding me? It's allergy season!"

I know how you feel. Muffin, my cat, leaves large clumps of fur on the carpet wherever she lays down. I guess you could call them kitten nuggets.

I once had a Seattle based agency send me a kit containing a fish wrapped in paper. I immediately tossed the whole box but I never forgot the agency that sent it to me. I guess it worked.
