This is What I Do

Some people waste brain cells by drinking, smoking or inhaling. My brain cells — along with my entire youth — were wasted by the Information Superhighway.

Thanks, Al Gore.

Should there be a link here? Is there something Al Gore said that is a reference (forgive me, I pay little attention to news--although there is much I can't avoid)? I feel stupid.

No reason to feel stupid. The line was a reference to the joke that Al Gore "created" the Internet. It comes from a 1999 CNN interview with Gore, when he said, in part:

"During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet."

Aaron, come on. No need to beat that urban myth to death. You should post Gore's full quote:

"During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet. I took the initiative in moving forward a whole range of initiatives that have proven to be important to our country's economic growth and environmental protection, improvements in our educational system."

He didn't claim to have invented it, only that he worked towards creating an environment that resulted in the development of the internet and other good stuff.

Sorry, gotta stick up for my party... ;-)

Can't tell I'm defensive or anything, can you?

Hey, that's why I said it was a JOKE.

Keep the peace. And come back to Minnesota.

Nice picture, Aaron, but you know what they say about actually putting your laptop on you lap. You gotta preserve the family jewels!

Aaron, I love your Mac. :) Men with discerning style have Macs. Well, that and men who have some creative initiative in them. PowerBooks kick ass, period. ;)
