Post-Show and Debut

So Swan Lake was great. The choreography was terrific, the dancers were beautiful and graceful (as I would expect from ballerinos), and the sets were cool. Strangely, though, the dancers looked more attractive -- tall, lithe, sexy -- wearing full evening suits than half naked in feathered leggings. Afterward, we all remarked on that. I guess it's true that there is something nice about mystery.

If the truth is told, though, I had trouble staying awake through the show. Not because it wasn't good but because a glass of wine at dinner and lack of sleep is a bad combination for me.

After the performance we (more on "we" in a moment) attended a reception at Mission restaurant. While the real attraction was the wine and hors d'ouevres, we also were graced with the presence of the swans themselves, transformed from graceful and awe-inspiring dancers into young kids in street clothes -- short punks in jeans and zip-up track jackets with crumbs of potato chips on their shirts. It was like the ugly duckling fairy tale except in reverse (and except that no one would call those ducklings ugly).

As far as the "we," there's something I haven't told you. Not because I haven't wanted to, but because I haven't figured out how to properly introduce the subject. So I guess a picture is the best way to break the ice, and then later I can figure out how to articulate things.

I met a couple of the swans at the Saloon tonight after their last show. I gotta tell ya, ballerino butt + british accent = a very horny Andy. I'm seriously sad I missed the show!

Aaron! You are so cute and coupled up. I hate you!!! Just kidding. My Valentine is Gloriane. She's here visiting me and says hi. We both think you (and Greg) are supercute. We miss you and we are happy for you (well, in a jealous sort of way).
